Beach Babes from Afar

My pride comes from the kids I have worked with....so blessed by the many kids who I have been lucky enough to coach over the years....BUT with the move to DFW I had to sit back and watch from afar when it came to the 2011 Regional tournament for the 12 Beach Babe team. Not only did I have ROCKSTAR coaches in place BUT these girls just got it (some have played for 3 years already in the program)...and to hear that they went 6-0 (12-0) overall I have never felt SO proud. And thanks to social media we were able to send videos back and forth over the weekend (thanks Julia)! LOVE IT! Here they are...

So besides some of personal life being in an upheaval, things have been rolling forward. All volley of course ;)...from Beach Babes/Boyz to SCVA Tourney's to M2 Dallas...all work some play :). One of Those Crazy Weekend's

So this past weekend proved to be a tad bit action packed (the story of my life right now ironically). From the Mira Costa Alumni Match Fundraiser for D4K, to the Beach Babes Tournament, to Kashi and Chris' wedding, to my dad's belated family dinner...good times...haha. Actually, I truly can't complain since the events ran pretty smoothly.

So, another Valentine's Day has come and gone....or should I say Valuable day...haha. This year was ACTION packed actually...from Disneyland/Disney California Adventure to practice with the Beach Babes & the 14 Mizuno team to dinner at yummo Javier's with the Katie's. GOOD TIMES. I am going to say the cliche line, "who needs a man", but only in jest...cause I DON'T mean it...hahaha....

The Lil Ladies in Pink (aka Beach Babes)

For those who know, I am directing a new program for Mizuno Long Beach called the Beach Babes. It is a beginner's program that is more like a "local" program, where we have around 25 girls who practice a few times a week and 1 coach per 5-6 kids. And these youngin's are between the ages 6-12. CO CUTE! And, for those who truly know me, know that me and Pink are NOT FRIENDS. Hahaha...but for some reason I have been truly embracing my inner pink with these girls. Pink shirts, pink back packs, pink socks, pink sweats...oh yea, those kids go all out! CLASSIC!

Anyways, we had our first tournament this past weekend (imagine 25 kids and their parents experiencing a "controlled" club tournament for the first time). For the most part, I thought it went well! The kids played well and you can definitely see the improvement already! Of course, I have some fab coaches and help (from the kids on MLB scholarship)...
