Yet another day at the "Happiest Place on Earth"

Yesterday was amazing. Both parks...singing next to one of the most amazing singers ever :)...JAMIE
, some awesome winetasting, a couple of haunted ghosts, and my fave part, KICKING JAMIE'S BUTT AT ASTROBLASTERS!

Let's start our journey right...so we entered DCA first and decided to get some fabulous fresh flour tortillas at the Mission Tortilla factory ("MASECA") and then ventured over to the Animation studios where we got to see who our inner "character" was, sing with the movies, talk with Crush, and listen to the disney masterpieces on giant screens! After, I ran to Tower (cause we all know about my obession) and then went wine tasting
. SO MUCH FUN! I learned a TON from Jammers
and the guy working the tasting. The 6 "S"'s are totally new to me...but it was REALLY cool to start to learn how to actually taste the wine.

After our winetasting we headed over to Disneyland. Our friend Steven, from the gathering, was working
and we decided to go and find him. Well, he actually found us...so that was cool. From there we left the park to go eat at the House of Blues
.
After dinner we walked back to the park and went over to the Astroblasters...hahahaha! And I kicked Jamie's butt! :)! After that we went shopping on Main Street. Then we went over to the Haunted Mansion (which, by the way, is finally back open) and took a trip through that quaint and joyful house ("Hurry back...Hurry back...we've been dying to have you")
. GOOD TIMES! We knew that Fastamic was going to be coming soon so we ventured over to find a spot...but then realized we could miss the fireworks if we did not get out of fantasmic fast enough...so we left and found some great seats for the show...but "due to high wind at the upper levels" the show was cancelled...:(. But...all in all it was an amazing day!!!

Great Quotes from a Classic Movie

So watching "Soapdish" this morning I realized that this movie is a CLASSIC! Even if you don't watch soap operas this movie still can prove to be fun! Here are some memorable quotes from this movie...

[Reading unrehearsed lines off the TelePrompTer]
Celeste Talbert (Sally Field): [as Maggie] Dr. Randall, what a surprise! Are you having lunch here?
Jeffrey Anderson (Kevin Kline): [as Dr. Randall] I will if it's that sample. Huh... I wish it was that simple.
Edmund Edwards (Garry Marshall): [offstage] This guy never heard of contact lenses?
Jeffrey Anderson: [as Dr. Randall] The test results have come back.
Celeste Talbert: [as Maggie] And?
Jeffrey Anderson: [as Dr. Randall] And I'm afraid the results are very disturbing. It seems that Angelique has a rare case of brake fluid...
[pause]
Jeffrey Anderson: Bran... fluid. Bran flavor.
Burton White (Arne Nannestad): What the hell?
David Barnes (Robert Downey Jr.): [offstage] Brain fever!
Edmund Edwards: [offstage, loudly] Say it!
Celeste Talbert: [as Maggie] Brain fever!
Jeffrey Anderson: [as Dr. Randall] Yes. Brain fever. Or what we call in Austria...
[they both goggle at the word]
Jeffrey Anderson: Kopfgeschlagen. At the current rate of inflation, her brain will laterally explore the...
Celeste Talbert: [as Maggie] Literally explode?
Jeffrey Anderson: [as Dr. Randall] Exactly, within the next three houses.
Celeste Talbert: [as Maggie] Hours?
Jeffrey Anderson: [as Dr. Randall] Yes, will literally explode within next three hours. I would suggest leaving the restraint.
Celeste Talbert: [as Maggie] Restaurant?
Jeffrey Anderson: [as Dr. Randall] Restaurant, yes.
Celeste Talbert: [as Maggie] Her brain will actually explode?
Jeffrey Anderson: [as Dr. Randall] Yes, yes, I've, um, seen it happen. It's a dreadful, dreadful thug. Thing.

Celeste Talbert: Oh, I'll tell you why I'm here! I'm here because... I... I...
Jeffrey Anderson: Come on, say it! "I want you, Jeffery. I'm consumed with jealousy for my neice, because I want you."
Celeste Talbert: Oh, please!
Jeffrey Anderson: Admit it, you have feelings for me.
Celeste Talbert: My feelings are ABOUT you, not FOR you. There's a big difference!

Rose Schwartz (Whoopi Goldberg): The guy was killed in an auto accident! I looked it up! He was driving in the Yukon, in a pink convertible, to visit his brother who's an ex-con named Frances, when a tractor trailer comes along and decapitates him. You know what that mean, it means he doesn't have a head. How am I suppose to write for a guy who doesn't have a head? He's got no lips, no vocal cords. What do you want me to do?

A Beautiful Day...Clouded with Deceit

Just wanted to say how amazing the view was this morning driving to church. The whole local mountain range is completely snow capped right now. This is the reason I love southern california. One view you can see out to Catalina and with the turn of your head, snow capped mountains as far as the eyes can see! Talk about how beautiful God has made this part of the world....

And in the midst of all this...what do you do when you realize someone you love and care about (and would do anything for) is lying and stealing from you. A question I thought I never would ask myself....makes you wonder right? Well, at least I know everything I feared the most is true. Sad, but true.

A Night at the Gig

So, me and Jammers
headed up to Hollywood to see one of her friends perform, Curtis Murphy Syndicate. I have never had the opportunity to see this venue and I must say it was quite cool. It was not too big, but it gave the appearance that it was huge, if that makes any sense! The band that followed the CMS was an interesting one too. John Cho (from American Pie) is the lead singer of a group called Left of Zed. Very intriguing. All in all it was a great night of rock!

"My Beautiful Woman" by BSB

This song just makes me smile....

this is an audio post - click to play

Look under your seats for those 3D glasses...haha

Things these days have been both amazing and COMPLETELY stressful! Yesterday was an uneventful day, yet I was completely out of my mind figuring out what I need to do in my career life. So when I got the call at 5:30p to go meet a former player and her sis (Maddie and Lindsey) at DCA I was REALLY tempted. And knowing that I would have to miss a club volleyball practice, I really thought about saying no (which normally I would do within 5 seconds). So...basically I ended up at DCA! And it was amazing! So cold out there...but so fun! You know (if you TRUELY know me) that I HAD to go on the Tower first...PERIOD. Being with 2 high schoolers they taught me some new tricks...and you will see some DEMENTED, yet fun, pictures from my night! So...here is my first pic...off the tower... GOOD TIMES! Can we say that I look like I am DEMON POSSESSED! We also had some fun talking to Crush ("Remember fish are our friend, not food") and creating our alter egos on the book...I was Nala this time. But the greatest thing to come out of there was this pic...hahaha... :)! From there we ventured over to the "Maliboomer"! And can I add those chickens did not want to go on the moving ferris wheel?! CHICKENS! Hahaha! Anyways, back to the Maliboomer...so if you get lucky, you can great an amzing view of both parks on the way up and down...and it all depends on which part of the ride you get on. Well, we got the good view side...so beautiful! From there we ventured back to Cali Screaming. I have always said that at night Dland rides go faster...and I believe that is true at DCA too. That was the funnest ride I have EVER had on that roller coaster! We posed for this pic ! From there we hit Mullholland Maddness and ventured back to Soaring over Cali. That is one ride that definetly brings the pride out of being a Californian. Not a SoCali or Norcali resident...but a Cali resident. Just beautiful.

Walking back to my car, I really started to realize that I need someone in my life (in the future) that is adventurous and fun. I am an outgoing person that likes to have fun, and do STUPID things and at the same time likes to curl up next to fire or sit on a secluded beach somewhere tropical. And not that i think like this a lot, but this month I have had the opportunity to think about it. I am also reading a book that makes you think about what you want. It is REALLY nice to realize this before entering my 30 year! Hahaha! One day Mr. Darcy will appear (or reappear) for me...and until then I am just going to keep having fun....

A Meeting with the Queens

When people hear about the city of Long beach their first questions are “Do you know Snoop or Cameron or Warren G”, “Have you partied with Sublime”, “Have you been in a drive-by shooting”, “Didn’t that crime happen in LB”, and my all time fave “Isn’t LB totally ghetto”. And while some of us have done or seen these things, when Long Beach comes to my mind there is one thing that always stands out…. the Queen Mary. It has been around since I was born and when you associate “something” with the city of Long Beach, that is the first thing that comes to most Long Beachians minds.

Today the Queen met her younger sister, the QM2, which is the largest cruise ship in the world today. It is sailed into the Pacific to meet its other half…in Long Beach. This is a boat that screams for respect upon first glance. Amazing. It was a once in a lifetime experience that I was privileged, along with more than a thousand others, to see. My favorite moment had to be when the ships exchanged welcoming horns. First in a loud and powerful blow (heard for miles), the QM2 whistled. Then there was silence and some smaller boats making their noise. And right before the Queen spoke, the crowd started egging her on (which was awesome). The Queen spoke in a prideful way. Talk about chills! Here are some pics from the event….
